April 21 Show was a 'sell out'

As a youngster Mike Preece's passion was collecting and playing the music of his era. He grew up surrounded by Rock and Roll, Motown and the swinging 60's and perfected his teenaged dance moves to the stompin' sounds of 70's disco.

He became legendary for 'kick-starting' a party and soon turned his vinyl, into a money-making D.J. business. There wasn't a weekend where Mike wasn't traversing the UK turning up in clubs, pubs, conferences, weddings and parties as either M.C. and/or D.J.

But a 'real job' beckoned and Mike's background in entertainment became a platform to launch his career into film and television with a remit in sales, marketing and distribution.

He has since represented BBC, Twentieth Century Fox, CBS, PolyGram, Island, DreamWorks and Universal Pictures in executive positions, on a global basis.

Fast forward to 2018, retired from business and happily languishing in New Zealand, Mike saw an opportunity with the re-emergence of vinyl records, to dust off his antique record collection and 'spin some grooves' to an audience of his own generation... Vintage-Vinyl was born.

So if you remember sipping a rum and coke and laying down a Lambada with a Burt Reynolds or Raquel Welch lookalike; Imitating John Travolta moves with Barry Gibb warbling 'Jive Talkin' in the background, or shrinking your Levi's by wearing them in the bath!...You qualify as someone who would love Vintage-Vinyl.

Only 'a stylus in a groove' away from a whole heap of nostalgic fun!

“Remember, this was an era where you were defined by the music you listened to and the clothes you wore. You wouldn’t find a skinhead listening to King Crimson, or a Rocker listening to blue beat or reggae. It wasn’t allowed.”  Karl Wiggins, Wrong Planet - Searching for your Tribe
